Getting Unstuck

happen in a year. Just focus on the 24 hours in front of you and do what you

can to get closer to where you want to be.”

 

Let’s face it. Sometimes you’re stuck. We have all been there. We wish we knew the answers to being happy or the secret to living our ideal life. Whether it is a job that is just killing you, a difficult situation you can’t seem to get out of, or the voice inside your head that is holding you back, it can be really hard to wake up each day with a positive outlook when you feel absolutely weakened and swamped by everything being thrown at you.

 

Well guess what? I know the secret.

 

The truth is that you have absolute control over everything you are currently experiencing, feeling, or going through. That’s right.

 

If you did not know, you have the power to take responsibility for yourself, your reactions, and your situations. You have control over how YOU react to the things being thrown at you, how YOU interpret a situation, and the actions that YOU take to get to where YOU want to be. The less you blame every external factor you come across for the reason of you being “stuck”, the more you will realize how much authority you have over your actual happiness and life.

 

You have complete control over the way you feel, the way you respond to any situation and the things you think about at any minute of the day. You cannot take responsibility for your life, your situation, and your reactions and be negative at the same time. Your mind can only focus on one thought at a time, positive or negative.

 

Whether it’s a rough day, week, or funk you are experiencing, how you respond to the decision you are paralyzed about, choice you are unsure to make, the plan that’s not working as anticipated, or the disappointment you can’t seem to recover from, affects your outlook on life. Again, it is up to you whether you want to take the positive route or the negative one.

 

We all know things can really suck sometimes, and I mean really suck. But you have to remember that what seems like the end is not always the end. These sucky episodes don't always last forever! No matter the obstacle or struggle you are going through right now, everything will work out. It always has, hasn't it? Sometimes we need those sucky things to motivate us, to push us, to test our abilities to do things that we would have never imagined ourselves doing. Ups and downs are normal. Life would be boring without them. Train yourself to find the positive in everything that is thrown at your way. I mean why not? If you have to get through something regardless, you might as well try your best to make it as enjoyable as possible. Don't let the sucky things consume you.

 

Practice your ability to respond positively in any given situation and allow yourself to let go of negative feelings that make you feel like you are “stuck”. Make it a priority to work and strive towards something you find inspiring, challenging and captivating, or your life will feel dull. You will find yourself doing the same things, with the same people, in the same way, day in and day out if you don’t.

 

Remember that the tomorrow we’re hoping for is connected to how we live our moments today. So go put one foot in front of the other, hustle on nights and weekends, and turn your tough situation into an opportunity to better yourself for yourself.
