“I didn’t come this far, to only come this far.”
This quote above resonates so greatly with me and I think all of you can take something away from it.
It’s okay if you are lying on your bed crying right now because you feel like the world just isn’t on your side.
It’s okay if you are scared because you have no idea what to do with your life, which direction to go in, which path to follow, or who to listen to. You don’t have to have it figured out just yet.
It’s okay if you are frustrated because you are not doing what other people your age are doing. Your time will come. Things take time.
It’s okay if you are afraid to fail, to disappoint, and to make mistakes. It is all part of the process of learning and growing. Just don’t forget to try and give yourself a chance.
It’s okay if you are hurting. The pain does not last forever.
It’s okay if you feel lost. You will eventually find your way out.
It’s okay to feel these things. You are not alone. It’s okay to give yourself the space you need to recover, to improve, to grow. The one thing I want you to remember is, is to not give up. Acknowledge where you are, how far you have come, and be proud of it. Make the progress that you need and strive to be better than you were yesterday. Don’t let these temporary “feelings” control you. Don’t give them the power to make you feel like everything is crashing down on you, because they are not. It is just a moment, a phase. Everything will be better soon, I promise.
You’ll make it. I swear, you will.
Your heart may feel worn and your eyes may feel heavy, but please keep going. Do it for yourself, because“[you] didn’t come this far, to only come this far.”
