Who Knew Silence Could Be So Loud

his thoughts

her emotions

their sensations

exploding all at once

creating a canvas

with colors of sorrow

with strokes of hatred

and blends of passion

he looked at her

with tears in his eyes

knowing that he had just lost what he feared losing

she looked at him

with strength in her eyes

knowing that she had just let go what she kept fighting

two bodies

once inseparable

stood before each other

as if they were strangers

awkward, as their eyes locked

intense, as their hearts thumped

nervous, as their hands shook

and scared, as their lips trembled

screams his lonely cry

shouts her broken heart

who knew silence could be so loud
