Our Favorite Asian Skincare Products

April 13, 2017

Asian skincare has been all the rage over the past few years. The focus on skincare rather than makeup guarantees a glowing, clear complexion which does not require much coverage or cover-up. During my recent trip to San Francisco, I stopped by “The Face Shop,” the infamous Asian skincare and beauty spot hidden in a Japantown strip mall. What I found were products that have made my skin not only clear, but smooth, glowing, and fresh. These products can be found online or at most Asian skincare shops, and are must-haves in preparation for baring your skin this summer.

Cleanser

The Face Shop's Jeju Volcanic Clay foaming scrub leaves your skin baby soft and clean, without that stripped-off feeling that many scrubs leave your skin with. It gets rid of makeup residue, dry skin patches, and helps shrink your pores so that you’re left with a perfect complexion.

Sheet Masks

There are hundreds of sheet masks available both online and at Asian skincare stores, and I’ve found that the majority of the ones I have picked up have been effective and soothing. My favorites are The Face Shop's Real Nature masks in honey and lemon, and The Solution moisturizing face mask.

Toner

The Therapy Essential tonic is an anti-aging treatment which tones, boosts, and evens out skintone. This toner can also be used as a mask if you apply a substantial amount and let it sit on your skin for a minute or two.

Moisturizer

The Chia Seed Moisturizing Cream provides intense moisture without leaving a sticky or greasy feeling on your skin. It’s the perfect base for makeup or a natural skin day as it leaves your skin with a velvety texture.
