Five Ways to Relax After One Heck of a Day

Whether it be a long day at work or a day full of non-stop errands, we could all use some time to unwind and de-stress!

 

It is crucial to make your health and well-being a priority. But unfortunately, relaxing doesn’t come very easily to most people. For today’s read, I put together a list of things that can help you relax so that you can continue to be the kick-ass person you are!

 

1. Unplug

 

The first step is to completely unplug from your electronics. Take a second to detox your mind from the world and all of its distractions. If you continue to keep answering emails, texts, or continue to look at what everyone else is up to, your mind will never be able to fully relax. So toss that phone to the side and forget about it!

 

2. Take a Bubble Bath

 

There is nothing like slipping into a hot bubble bath after a stressful day at work. Strip those clothes off, throw on some mellow music, light a candle, and soak the day’s worries away.

 

3. Read a Book or Watch a Film

 

Don’t knock it 'til you try it. Reading is a very good stress-buster. Diving into another person’s story helps you forget about your worries at the moment and helps your mind gain clarity. Kicking your feet up and watching a film is always a great idea too. Sometimes we are so busy that we don’t get to catch up on our favorite shows or watch the movies we have been wanting to watch. Well, this is the perfect time to watch that romantic love film or documentary that you have been wanting to watch.

 

4. Wine and Dine

 

After a long day you deserve some Moscato. Pour yourself that glass of wine, pig out on whatever it is that you may be craving, and don’t feel guilty about it one bit.

 

5. Stretch, Visualize, and Meditate

 

Now before you hit the sheets, make sure to stretch your body to relieve yourself of muscle tension and aches. Visualization can be a really powerful tool to help you unwind in a snap. Imagine yourself at your happiest and think positive thoughts. Lastly, close your eyes, take several deep breaths, and let peace take over your mind.
